Hello from our Head Gardener

“As a child growing up at Powerscourt, I had a wonderful time exploring one of the most magical and exciting gardens in the world! From the breath-taking vistas of the Sugar Loaf, the Pepper Pot Tower and its cannons, to rolling down the terraces of the formal gardens, I had an idyllic childhood immersed in the natural world.

Soon my playground became my passion and life’s purpose and I have devoted the past ten years to arming myself with the necessary academic qualifications and specialist experience required to become Head Gardener at Powerscourt.

When Powerscourt was awarded third best garden in the world by the prestigious National Geographic Magazine it was wonderful to see the efforts of several Viscounts and their dedicated staff appreciated and recognised. I and the other gardeners, Dermot, Derek, Ken, Shane and Fergus, feel very privileged to manage and further develop these world class gardens for future generations of visitors to enjoy.”
