Brigit’s Weekend – Wicklow Craft Showcase at Powerscourt House
Powerscourt Estate will celebrate creativity this upcoming St Brigid’s Day weekend with a craft showcase & inspiring event.
If you are looking for an inspiring and heartfelt experience this upcoming St Brigid’s Day long weekend. Powerscourt Estate is hosting a unique five-day showcase of the work of skilled practitioners and artisans from Wicklow’s digital craft trail, in the beautiful surrounds of the entrance hall to Powerscourt House from the 1st to the 5th of February.

Wicklow Digital Craft Trail
County Wicklow Partnership and Wicklow Craft Foundation are delighted to announce the launch of Wicklow’s inaugural digital craft trail – “Made in Wicklow: Head, Heart & Hands, on St Brigid’s Day, February 1st, at Powerscourt Town House, Enniskerry. This platform is a comprehensive showcase for 41 of Wicklow’s skilled craft practitioners & artisans and presents a curated display of the county’s unique, excellent and diverse craftsmanship.
“Made in Wicklow: Head, Heart, and Hands” not only brings together the collective talent of artisans. it also introduces a new brand identity to the marketplace. Full professional photography, including profile shots and product images, has been undertaken for each craft practitioner, accompanied by 19 captivating videos to vividly bring the story of Wicklow craft to life, all of which will be available to view online. In addition, the platform also features a carefully curated “Recommended by” section, showcasing the support of 7 retail and supports of Wicklow craft, which will help build brand identity.
The initiative also aims to go beyond the celebration of this rich creative talent by offering an additional tourism offering for visitors planning a unique and authentic experience as part of their visit to the garden county.

Through strategic initiatives, collaborative efforts, and innovative platforms like “Made in Wicklow: Head, Heart, and Hands,” the partnership aims to contribute to the economic and cultural development of the region by supporting and showcasing the diverse talents of Wicklow’s craft practitioners’.
To build excitement and community engagement, a 26-workshop craft series is currently been hosted across Wicklow libraries and simultaneously, an 8-week community pottery project is underway in Arklow to highlight the history and heritage of Arklow Pottery.
This project has been funded through the Transitional LEADER Rural Development Programme 2021 – 2023 and is supported by County Wicklow Partnership, Wicklow Co Co and Wicklow Craft Foundation.
